Goodbye August!
It's so nice of you to stop by and see what I've been up to this past month, both in my bookish life and my LIFE life. Check out this month's highlights and see what I've been up to! (This meme is inspired by Jamie's Monthly Rewind.)
Hello! Hopefully you enjoyed your last few weeks of summer. For those of you back in school, good luck! I actually miss being a student, which I never thought I'd say. Ever. August was quieter here on the blog. I've been trying to figure out how to juggle my blog, my new job, a singing group I just joined, and my social life. Hopefully I get the hang of things soon! And wow... I know I'm 9 days late in posting this wrap-up, but I know you've already forgiven me. :)
5 Things That Happened to Me this Month:
1. I got a brand new job. I now help people research their ancestors.
2. I had to leave on-the-job training early to go to the ER with my second kidney stone. Ick!
3. I started singing again with the alumni of a choir I was in in college. LOVE that we're together again!
4. I finally got my family to board the Bones TV series bandwagon.
5. Someone thought I was a famous author, and wrote to me to thank me for my inspiring work. (Don't worry! I corrected the situation!)
5 New Things I Discovered this Month:
1. Coconut oil does amazing things to my hair, and makes it verrrrrry soft.
2. Mixing a little corn starch with my foundation cuts down majorly on summer face shine.
3. I have 5 new kitties who live under my deck in the backyard.
4. Gas is $3.73 a gallon, and I'm dying as a result.
5. That cauliflower pizza crust that everyone is pinning is actually really gross.
Favorite Book of the Month:
Degrees of Wrong by Anna Scarlett (see my review)
Most Popular Posts on the Blog:

Again... That's totally the Same cover! (#3)
Exciting things coming up...
1. Yay for all the TV shows starting up again!
2. Fall weather! (sweaters, hot chocolate, fall leaves)
So, how was your August? Let me know what you've been up to lately!

Congrats on the new job Jana! <3 I'm sorry that you had a kidney stone, I've heard those are so painful. I hope you feel better!! I use coconut oil on my hair sometimes, and you're totally right, it makes it super soft and actually strengthens it! Which is why I like it. ;) Degrees of Scarlett looks so good, I really need to pick that one up! I've only seen good reviews. =) Also, I'm excited for fall too! It's already starting to cool down outside, and it's such gorgeous weather. I'm loving it! Even though fall brings school. =P
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a fabulous month in September Jana! <3
Awww YAY for you that you're singing again!!! Choir was my favorite part of high school and college and I miss it so much!!!
ReplyDeleteAlso, love the same cover posts! How funny. Seems like a great big "oops"!
Yay for the new job! That sounds really interesting and exciting. That's a bummer about your kidney stones. My sister had that about a year or so ago and she was in a lot of pain.
ReplyDeleteI put coconut oil in my hair too. I wash my hair every other day and use a bit of coconut oil on non wash days midway to ends. I absolutely love it. Plus it makes my hair smell amazing.
I am SO excited for:
ReplyDelete--Parenthood
--Revenge
I still have never watched a single episode of Bones...
Jen (Literally Jen)
:) Congratulations on the new job!! Genealogy is fascinating!
ReplyDeleteOuch, I've heard kidney stones are definitely not a pleasant experience.
Around Pittsburgh gas is now $3.89-ish. ..yeah. A few weeks ago it had gone down to 3.40-something and I practically rejoiced. Overnight it shot right back up again.
I'm SO excited for fall, it's ridiculous. Winter, not so much, but fall is fabulous. I've already broken out all of my fall-ish candles and the hoodies.
August was pretty darn awesome to me (and I'm glad because it's my birthday month after all!). Though I didn't get too many new books, a lot of fun things happened on my blog.
ReplyDeleteI'm happy for you about your new job and the singing group! I hope it all goes well :)
