Showcase Sunday (#2)

Showcase Sunday is hosted by Vicky at Books, Biscuits, and Tea. We get to showcase our newest books or book related swag and to see what everyone else received, borrowed, bought, and downloaded!

So, this is a quick little vlog highlighting two books I got, a bit of the Dark Days Tour stop in SLC, and some upcoming blog tours next week! Sorry about my lack of blog content lately! Summer hit, and I don't really want to do anything! I am finally back with a vlog, and it's actually on time... haha. So I feel accomplished.

(Kerstin is actually pronounced like "Cher (like Sonny and Cher) + stin (like the end of Kristin)". I totally knew this because I have a friend with this name. It's foreign.)

Books Received:

Ruby Red by Kerstin Gier
(From Julia's 2-year blogoversary giveaway)

Insignia by S.J. Kincaid
(Because Kimberly accidentally got an extra for the SLC Dark Days signing, and was sweet to give it to me!)

Book I forgot to mention because it's late and I'm tired:

 Every Day by David Levithan
(From Netgalley)

People I mentioned and/or screwed up their names because it's late and I'm tired:

Jen from Literally Jen
YA author Elana Johnson (She came to the Dark Days signing as well!)

Forgot to mention I also met Dan Wells and Veronica Roth! I have their books on Kindle, so I did not get to have anything signed by them. :( Oh well!

I reviewed Let's Hear it for Almigal for my Inner Child feature of the month.
I reviewed Tempest Unleashed by Tracey Deebs (book #2 in the Tempest trilogy)
I talked about some books, and why I chose to not finish them.
I got rid of all the pink on my blog because all the book covers and buttons were clashing with it.
Oh, and I made new social networking icons!

Thanks for stopping by! Please leave a link to your book haul-ish posts, and I'll come visit you! And while you're here, do you like the new blog colors? Have you read any of the books I mentioned in my vlog? What did you think of them?

  1. Great vlog and post, Jana.

I've had a bit of a reading slump between coming back from holiday and "On The Island", so I appreciate what you're going through with the whole summer slow down thing. I'm now getting back to reading ways and I look forward to seeing more of you around.

PS - Please send me a link to your On The Island blog event when it's on and I'll post back to it from my blog. :)

  4. People start reading Ruby Red! I loved this book :) Finally we German speaking (yes, I am Austrian and the distinction is important to us)readers were able to read a book before the English speaking readers - yeah! I have all three books sitting on my shelf and I loved this series!
Love the new blog design but I am a fan of blue :D
Love watching your vlogs Jana and summer hit me as well. I mostly watch TV or read a bit (but not as much as I wanted). Hate this and hope it'll change soon.
    Have a wonderful week

  5. I tried Ruby Red a while back and it wasn't for me, maybe it was my mood or I was looking for something else but I do hope that you'll like it better.
