Top Ten Tuesday is hosted at my other blog, The Broke and the Bookish.
I'm really excited that today is a freebie, because I'm TOTALLY in the mood for some warm, summery books to read poolside, on deck, and in the sun.
I absolutely love light, happy reads that leave you with smiles and giggles. Mostly they take place on beaches, on vacation, by the lake, or during summer. Check out my favorites! They are all romantic, and they are all contemporary. And I love them ALL.
Girl at Sea by Maureen Johnson
Unbreak My Heart by Melissa Walker
The Summer My Life Began by Shannon Greenland
Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins
Wanderlove by Kirsten Hubbard
From What I Remember by Stacy Kramer and Valerie Thomas
Just One Day by Gayle Forman
Carrie Goes Off the Map by Phillipa Ashley
My Ridiculous, Romantic Obsessions by Becca Wilhite
Boys, Bears, and a Serious Pair of Hiking Boots by Abby McDonald
So, have you read any of these ones? What are some of your favorite summery reads? I need lots of recommendations!

I think Beautiful Ruins by Jess Walters is a great summer read- the Italy coastline screams vacation!
ReplyDeleteThe Gayle Forman book is in my summer pile, too! Happy reading.
ReplyDeleteI love this topic, The Summer My Life Began was so cute, and I'll have to look up some of the other books you mentioned that I didn't recognize! :) My TTT is Fictional Places I’d Love to Vacation: http://aliceinreaderland.com/2013/05/27/vacation/

I've only read Anna and the French Kiss from your list. But I do love a book with a great beach/summerish setting.
ReplyDeleteRoad trips and books set in foreign lands are some of my favourites to read in the middle of summer. Something about reading about other people enjoying their holidays that makes me feel like I'm on vacation myself. Great list!
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any of these! But Anna, Unbreak My Heart and Wanderlove are all at the top of my "want" list. I really need to check them out.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my TTT! :)

oh I'm excited I've only read one of these and I too have been craving some summery reads
ReplyDeleteMy Top Ten
Great list! I haven't read any of these titles but I've heard wonderful things about Anna and the French Kiss...I hope I get to it one of these days xD
ReplyDeleteTo be honest no particular title comes to mind when I think of summery reads but I do enjoy a good novel set somewhere in Europe (regardless of the genre) and a mystery/thriller--something quick-paced and good for the park or the beach or something =)
Thanks for dropping by my TTT =) Happy Tuesday!

The Only one I've read? Anna and the French Kiss. Shame, I know. Not much into contemporary, but those on your list look really good! Especially Just One Day and Wanderlove.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read any of these, but they look SO good. Great list
ReplyDeleteI'm dying to read Anna and the French Kiss, Unbreak my Heart and Wanderlove! Curse the public library for not having them... Fun topic! =)

Hi Jana - hey, thank you for including Carrie Goes off the Map in your Top Ten Happy Reads. I just read and loved a UK rom com called Cooking Up a Storm by Sue Welfare - it also included delicious recipes featured in the story.
ReplyDeleteGreat post! Now I can only wish I lived by the beach so I could really enjoy these books ;)

You have so many great ones on your list! Boys, Bears is so underrated! I adored it. Wanderlove and Anna are amazing!
ReplyDeleteMy Top Ten
Yay, I love warm, happy reads!!! Anna and Just One Day are obviously two of my favorites :) I'm surprised you didn't include Meant To Be! Great list -- I'm gonna have to check some of these other ones out!
ReplyDeleteLove summer time :) These covers are awesome!
ReplyDeleteI really want to read Jus one day! And I've heard so much about anna, but haven't checked it out! Awesome list :)

I love Anna! That's one of my all-time favorites. I enjoyed Wanderlove, too. I still need to read Just One Day and Girl at Sea. Great list!

I have got to get on it and read Anna and the French Kiss and Wanderlove. Recently, I really enjoyed Golden! Definitely a good summer read. :) Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteBonnie @ Sweet Tidbits
Ooo, I love warm, happy reads, but I've only read one of these books - Anna and the French Kiss. Have you read any Meg Cabot? I think of her books as warm and happy.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing :)
Oh I love your choices! I see some I will have to check out. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI really want to read From What I Remember and Unbreak My Heart. Honestly, I don't read a lot of books that people would call 'summer reads' though I really should. Love reading in the pool.
ReplyDelete-Lauren
I don't usually read warm, happy books, so when I picked-up Anna and the French Kiss I was surprised. In a way, it didn't have the same meaning the rest of the books I read did. But then... there was nothing I disliked or not loved about the book. Happy can be good.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea and list! I feel like I've been seeing Unbreak My Heart on a lot of TTT lists lately and I'm excited to get my hands on it.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog!
I'm making a summer reading bucket list, and I'm definitely going to add a few of these to my list!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun, summery topic! Thanks for the From What I Remember rec- I'm definitely going to look for it.
ReplyDeleteSuch a great list! I've only read Anna and the French Kiss, but I'm definitely going to have to read some of the others you mentioned. These actually look like great books for the Summer Lovin' read-a-thon! :D
ReplyDeleteHaha I never read anything light and fun (or rarely). I'm such a downer. My beach reads are usually big thick fantasy books that I can plop down and read for hours and hours while I slowly get burned haha.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE summery reads (aka: I LOVE this topic!). I especially like reading them in the winter, in the event that I get just A BIT too cold >.<
ReplyDeleteMost of these books are still on my TBR, but you're making ALL excited to read them, especially Unbreak My Heart, From What I Remember and Wanderlove.
