I LOVE book covers, so I've been really excited to participate in today's topic. These covers all adorn books I've read. Some of them, I absolutely loved. Others, I hated. Either way, the covers are lovely!

DeleteIsn't it weird how you can dislike a book but love the cover? Just goes to show that a cover can be misleading sometimes.... >.<
ReplyDeleteYou are SO right. I have been deceived by many a cover, and it's infuriating, especially since I have read amazing books with terrible covers. They deserve the good ones!
DeleteAll gorgeous covers. I love that you separated it between books you loved and books you hated. Too bad you hated Paris, My Sweet- it is such a cute cover!

Dance of Shadows is on my list too. That cover is just gorgeous. I liked the book but can understand why some people didn't!
ReplyDeleteI think Dance of Shadows is one of those books you either love or hate. It had its redeeming qualities, and I can see why people love it. I just was not expecting such a paranormal spin.

DeleteI love that you separated out books you adored from books you hated! Ironically, my favorite covers on your list are in the "hated" pile LOL.

It's so funny, I hated Black City too but I loved the cover, it was gorgeous and made me want to love what was inside, but I just couldn't! I haven't read Dance of Shadows yet but I adore the cover, it looks gorgeous. Sorry you didn't like it. :(

DeleteI love the cover of Black City! I haven't had the chance to read it yet though. I seem to hate a lot of books with gorgeous covers, especially Dance of Shadows. It was AWFUL. The cover of Meant to Be is also really pretty!

Yeah... Dance of Shadows was terrible. Honestly, though, I'd rather read it again that Black City. Hopefully you like it more than I did. :)

DeleteLol. I almost divided my list into books I liked, and books I didn't like, but I realized that after I've read a book, my feelings for the cover change. I really love covers that accurately represent the story.

You know, I totally see where you're coming from with your feelings about a cover changing once you've read it. That's happened to me before as well. Good point!

DeleteThose are pretty covers. I love them all. Do you hate it when a pretty cover draws you in and it turns out you don't even like the book? That happened to me recently (twice...). It's so disappointing.

Dismal is a good way to describe Dance of shadows, actually. And yes, go get Statistical Probability! It's wonderful.

DeleteMeant to Be made my list too!! I love the colors in it! The Dance of Shadows cover is so beautiful, but I've not heard great things about it, so I haven't read it yet. I almost put Statistical Prob. on my list as well... I love the black&white with the red and the busy-ness of the airport with the calm of the couple. Cool list!

I did not even notice the red dress theme! Funny, I'm not usually a fan of dresses on books. Haha.
