My love of reading started at a very young age, but then dwindled a little from middle school until I graduated high school. I think what intensified it the most, though, was the opportunity I had to teach struggling ESL children how to read. I had not fully understood the power of reading until I saw tears shed over the inability to do so. The glimmer of hope in their eyes, and the small milestones we reached together are what I think of every time I close a book.
This isn't just a book review blog. This is a place to hang out, make new friends, and discover new and exciting books together. I will read pretty much anything, but my favorite genres include YA Fiction, Adult Fiction, Romance (clean), Mystery, Memoir, and Travelogues. My go-to authors are Mary Higgins-Clark, Stephanie Perkins (Anna and the French Kiss is my favorite book ever), Maggie Stiefvater, Syrie James, and Lynn Kurland. They have earned my trust, and I'll read anything they write. However, I love to meet new authors and explore all genres if a good book gives me a reason to do so! I know how hard it is to be a successful author, and absolutely love helping to promote authors and their books. If you'd like me to review your book and/or host a giveaway, please send me an e-mail!
I've been a frequent contributor at The Broke and The Bookish for over two years now, so if I seem familiar to you, that's why! I haven't left TB&TB (love those girls!), I just thought it would be fun to create a blog where I could post more reviews more frequently!
When I'm not curled up reading somewhere with a blanket, hoodie, gloves, and my beloved Kindle, I'm either designing something, working as a substitute teacher in one of the local elementary schools, out with friends, or doing random things at home with my family.
I get around the Internet! Check out where I've been featured!I talked about my favorite book at My Life... for Karin's blogoversary.
